Spring, 1988, Jake Holloway is a week from finishing his junior year at Summerville High. He's looking forward to performing in the school's production of Our Town, and hoping to take his neighbor Abbie to prom. He's had a thing for her ever since she moved in next door last year.

He grew up in Summerville Heights, a quiet suburb outside Spokane, Washington. It's the only town he's ever known, it's his town. Then a string of robberies hits close to home, and the sense of security Jake's always taken for granted starts to crack. Determined to help, he starts feeding tips to his father, the town's sheriff. Tips he's happened upon almost by accident. But the crooks keep slipping away.

When the police fail to catch them, Jake takes matters into his own hands, and gets in way over his head.
